about

In May 2003, U.S. soldiers from the 320th Military Police Battalion began torturing & abusing prisoners under their control at the Abu Ghraib Prison in Iraq. It began with extremely poor living conditions, then continued with various torture methods: playing music at full volume on repeat for extended periods of time (~1 week), sleep denial, and extremely uncomfortable restraints. Then came the public humiliation, rape, and systematic torture. 105 detainees lost their lives. 36 were from mortar attacks that no other U.S. controlled prison in Iraq experienced casualties from. 37 were homicides. The main perpetrators at Abu Ghraib Prison only got a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Dedicated to the victims of the War on Terror. May there be peace on Planet Earth. Happy 4th of July.
